Copper Toxicity in Maize: The Severity of the Stress is Reduced Depending on the Applied Fe-Chelating Agent

چکیده
Abstract The wide use of copper (Cu)-based fungicide has caused a stepwise accumulation Cu in the environment increasing occurrence phytotoxicity crops. To understand and alleviate this abiotic stress, maize seedlings were grown hydroponic solution with different combinations iron (Fe) forms. Results showed that sensitivity is related to nature form supplied chelate-exchange processes might involve other elements, such as Fe. CuSO 4 excess (100 µM) severe reduction plant growth, over Cu, high activity antioxidant enzymes, impairment acquisition nutrients. In presence chelating agents (citrate ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, EDTA) ability plants tolerate Cu-levels depends on Fe nutritional status. Copper symptoms do not occur when was chelated by EDTA. synthetic agent EDTA (as Cu-EDTA Fe-EDTA) prevented toxic Cu-level allowed better homeostasis among citrate, concentration occurred but its limited even available solution. suggest can operate good control status Cu-excess present concomitantly chelator Fe-fertilizer. These results pave way provide guidelines for fertilization managements Cu-contaminated soils

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
